Last days in paradise!!!

Amigos amigos...que pasa ahora...no se que yo hago..
A strange feeling is in my stomack, my mind, my toes, my fingers and especially my heart...
Im going home vuauuuuuu..so strange, its like joy and sadness 50/50..dont know if to cry or laugh...so Ill probably do both when I come home, and people are gonna think I lost it a little bit out here...maybe I did..but I think I lost the things that are good to loose, like stress..boredom...anxiety..and gained a little bit more of the good things like happiness, crazyness, joy and ofcourse a lot of good friends.
And not least I can speak to all my little spanish friends that I keep in my closet........did not understand a word they said before...but it sounded very important so Im exited... maybe they know the secret of life !!!
Anyway..
In Tulum now for to relax after 3 months of hard work holiday...hmmmm
Last week I met up with my friend Jolien in Merida, Mexico..where we spend a day and then we went to Isla de Holbox, an iceland so beautifull.
A fishing village with long fantastic beaches and the biggest selection of shells I have ever seen. The isla is not crowded with turism, witch is unbelivable, its in Mexico. We spend 4 days there cause it was so peacefull, and we had a beautifull palapa house with a kitchen and a washing machine...and after 3 months of travelling it was paradise..to was your dishes..wash your clothes over and over again and make your own food..vau!!!so nice!
It was abit strange though because the sea was not so attractive..smelled strange, someone told me it was because the carabean and the gulf of mexico meet there..hmmm maybe. But a Paradise !
Now im gonna soak my self in the sea of the caribean for two more days and not wash for a week....so bring nose clips if you want to come and see me !!!!
So much love to all of you...and thank you for beeing here with me..it felt so good, didnt fell I was doing this alone somehow..

Todos todos amigos, que tal ?
San Pedro, San Pedro I know it in and out like the palm of my hand. I can walk around the town in about half an hour.
And I feel like I know everybody, because I greet everybody, buenas diaz ! buenas tardes ! buenas noches etc... and they greet me back, nice !!!
I study spanish hard every day, and try to practise with the locals.
Now Ive started to think about my trip home, starts on the 7th feb. and Im home on the 10th. Its very strange to think about it, because for me so much have changed, but I guess everything will be the same when I get back, and people will just think I went to the solarium, or sprayed myself with airbrush and took some spanish classes or maybe even have got myself a latino boyfriend !!!!
Now Im concentrating so much on enjoying my last days that its actually tiering, and I just feel lazy. I think maybe I need to get my big beautifull ass in gear and go somewhere, see new things, do the last bit of travelling !!!
But things are good here, made some new friends, Ana from England, and ofcourse Kris is still here the constant happy belgian guy, but he is leaving and Ana aswell, and I dont like to be left behind.
I might go to the pasific coast for a few days, a place called Monterico, a volcanic beach !!hmmm sounds like Iceland !
Thats it for now, havent seen anyone here for awhile, am I forgotten ?
Estoy mucho feliz aqui, espero esta mismo con ustedes !

Katamaran "Las Sirenas"

Where to start...where to begin...like you see it was amazing !!!!
Basically we sailed, snorkelled, ate, drank, swam, played poker, ate, snorkelled, swam.....
But we also had adventures with coral that burned and BIG BIG BIG Baracudas following us, nipping at my to rings uaohhhhhh scared the shit out of me..I think I broke the record in snorkel swimming.
The dolphins stopped by and greated us, but they where in a hurry to safe the world so we waived them good luck.
We tryed to get drunk a copple of times but with the rocking boat and the thought of crawling in to our coffin somehow took the thrill away.
It was lazy lazy lazy....and NICE....
Snorkelling was like swimming in a big aqarium, unbelivable, mamma mia..
The seesickness didnt catch up with us until we stepped on land, it was very funny...we where sailing for two more days on land..
So now I did this what to do next ???
Back in San Pedro, studying more spanish and enjoying my last week of paradise..

What a fantastic way to go into a new year, on a fantastic beach in the moonlight with mum and good friends, and dancing with "pocos esperos locos" untill there was a river running down your back.
Me and mum have had a wonderfull 10 days together, very relaxing, we took a jump the last two days and saw "Coba" ruins and went snorkelling in a limestone cave wich the whole Yucatan is famous for called "Cenotes"
Yesterday she left back home and it was sad and hard, but at least we had this good time, and i think we are both greatfull for that.. And I do think my mum is hooked on snorkelling now, so if you Icelanders see a women snorkelling in the swimming pools then its probably her !!!

Amigos, amigas
Todo esta bien aqui y yo estudio espanol todos diaz con mi maestra.
Mi familia esta bien tambien, Mi Padre del familia pinto todos diaz.
San Pedro es un poquito calor a hora , pero me gusta mucho.
Hmmm not bad ay....
San Pedro has been wonderfull, I really like it here.
Yesterday I went kayaking with Silja from Germany, Kris from Belgium and Mim and Bill from England, Jolene from Belgium stayed home, mucho amigos....
We crossed the Lake Atillan to San Marcos in beautiful weather with picnic.
We swimmed and ate and waited for me to work up my courage to jump off the cliff, did make some attempts th day before but I chickened out... In the end I jumped Yaiiiiiiiiiiii I was terrified, but I did it, very proud of my self...
I have been offered a job here if I want to come back, in a resturant, I think I will do so but Im also considering a cruise with Silja from Germany, a 7 day cruise on a catamaran in the caribean !!!!
Well as I said before someone has to do this right....

Tetta er svo skritid lif..allt verdur odruvisi tegar madur fer i svona ferdalag. Eg er alltaf ad hugsa, afhverju var svona mikilvaegt fyrir mig ad koma hingad til Guatemala, eg vissi ekkert um land og tjod, en tad sotti a mig i langan tima, verd ad fara til Guatemala..og eg elska tetta land...tad er dasamlegt !
Her er svo afslappad, svo gott folk, svo mikil gledi,svo svo fallegt,hreint loft, ekki of kallt, ekki of heitt, svo litid stress osf..
Kannski eg kaupi bara hus her hmmm..ekki slaem hugmynd, og leigi tad ut fyrir islendinga sem vilja odruvisi fri ....god hugmynd ya....
En nu legg eg i hann a midvikudag burtu hedan med orlitlum trega og leidin liggur til Tulum Mexico til ad fagna midvetri med mommu, jol hvad ????
Tad verdur dasamlegt ad vera i fadmi mommu i sma tima.
Sakna Pabba, Gerdu, braedra og vina minna soldid en eg lifi tad af, ferdavinir er ekki tad sama, en tetta er allt yndislegt folk sem eg hitti.
Eg held tad geti ordid skritid ad koma heim tar sem nu er eg svo von ad nalgast okunnugt folk og byrja ad spjalla..ekkert mal, en tetta er daldid odruvisi heima..vid sjaum til..kannski tala eg bara spaensku vid alla !
Ut i solina...buin ad laera heima..allt klart !

having the time of my life

San Pedro laguna, Guatemala 13th dec.
Wow How fast things change..Rain in Belize..gave up waiting..hopped on boat..then on a bus to Flores, scariest ride Ive had for a long time..rainy and muddy and a very bad car in the dark, but we made it. Next to Guatemala city nightbus, arriving in the big city things started to get interesting, got on a chicken bus, they told me that I had to get off at a certain place and change, they dropped me off in the middle of nowhere, and at his point I started my period shi.....well a minibus picked me up, said they where going to San pedro, which was my destination, but then not surprisingly they dropped me off on road in the montains. A coffe farmer came to my rescue, and while we where talking a pick up truck arrived and he said " lets go"
So I went on another really scary ride on the back of a pick up crowded with mayans, we arrived in San Pablo, got off it and he told me get on another one, and another one, and another one ...27 hours later I arrived in San Pedro, Tired NOOOOO.
Man WHAT A RIDE !!!
Now in San Pedro, loving it, moved in with a family today, Pedro the husband is a painter, mother Debohra makes food and Loise is a teenager. Ive had two days of school one on one with a mayan lady and Im am doing very good...
Its a fantastic place to learn soanish, bacause you have to use it !!!!

is all in d mind... ja man..allright
Stuck in belize for a few days because of occational rain showers,what a fantastic place to be stuck in though, sandy streets, you walk barefoot all day, tiny , you can walk it in about 15 min, and you meet the same people over and over again.
Im leaving for a 3 day cruise on a sail boat on sunday I hope, if it cleares up, guess I have to by some sort of camera ay... we will camp on to deserted islands and end up in town called Placencia also in Belize.
We had a fantastic cruise with a rastafari a few days ago..ate everything straight from the see, snorkelled among giant stingrays and nurse sharks, I even held one stingray ( for you icelanders they are about the size of a kitchen table for 4)in my arms, I swear !!! I will get a picture on here sooner or later.
We had coctails and watched the sunset, I think the universe got my birthday wrong and thought that day was my birthday not the day before...what a fantastic day...
Me and karin are relaxed and read and enjoy the non scedule days...

Gunna min, gott ad sja tig..ja tu att ad vera her med mer..eg er ad gera tetta fyrir okkur badar, tvi tu ert alltaf med mer, o Gunna myndi elska tetta og hitt, tu veist..

One more paradise on my map...
The group has left me and Karin and they cont. to Playa del Carmen. Girls! it was a pleasure, Catie and Jane you are heroes in my mind for doing this trip, for sleeping with spiders, for constantly beeing put on trial, but again and again you made it without total breakdown, thumbs up for you, and you where a lot of fun.
Kelly and Ann, nothing scares you does it, I liked your spontanity and you surprised me with your cracyness, now and then, like the tuk tuk. You just have to learn to drink !!!smile...
Jamice...you go girl..Tank you, thank you, thank you for beeing such a wonderful girl.. fun to be with.. I do hope you come to Iceland..even though I think I might have to carry you around in a sleeping bag.....And Im sure we will meet again somewhere in the world.

Well the last day of 38 years wasnt all that bad, it was actually very good, with horsebackriding, tarantulas and termite eating...sound faboulous dosent it ?
Even though its hard to compare the icelandic horse to any horse, i had a great time, a bit sore but hey sometimes fun is pain !!!we road past a friendly tarantula and on one of our stops we had live termite snack...hmmm tasted like carrots. We, me and Karin crossed 6 rivers, some quite deep, almost swimming, and the rest was through the jungle..our guide was just like in the movies waiving his mancheta(i think its called)A big svard kind of knife, at first I thought he was protecting us from the snakes, but then i realised he was just cutting the trees so we could pass.
A great day in the jungle, it rains a lot now, they say its normal. We have a loneley male howling monkey in our yard, think he was thrown out of his group so he dosent howl that much.
We are off tyo caye caulker tomorrow, its a caribean island, and we will have a sunset cruise on my birthday !!!! just wish I had all my fantastic friends with me.

Hola todos corasones, madre, padre, madrasta, todos amigas y amigos...
Vááááá....howling monkies...have to write this in english...and it´s not only for you David..and dont slap Annie, im sure she has been a good girl...anyway !!!! monkies !!!!
Last night in Rio Dulce,,which is in Guatemala, very close to the caribean sea, I went with Kelly and Ann on a kayak in the middle of the night, it was pitch dark and pooring rain, and kayaked across the lake, which is quite big, to see the howling monkies. Váááá...we arrived on the other side, still dark and this very very load noice greated us..that was something I cant descripe...and it was raining like cracy..are you picturing this? Then sloweley got bright and we could see them very clearly, big families6-8 of them in each group...we saw three groups...mamma mia...what an experience !
We just arrived Flores today which is close to Tikal, one of the most magnificent mayan ruines in the world, tomorrow we will have a 5 hour tour through it.
Irene..Im glad you are here..you are also a fantastic girl..I wish you all the best.
And dont worry, I wont kidnapp anyone...unless its in my belly....smile....
And David..I dont have a camera...long story !!!!

Hope you are reading this...Annie, Caroline, Anke, Josh, Flo, Irene, Kaj, Monica, Amanda, Iris, Ann, Kelly, Karin, Jane and Catie.
But all my icelandic friends and family are ofcourse also welcome...
Im back in Antiqua after two nights by the Lake Atillan, Panacajhel and the most famous market in central america Chichicaztenango. It was so beautiful...vaaaa...The lake is surrounded by volcanic mountains, and around the lake are little villages, amazing...I still cant believe Im here...can you??? Sometimes I think im in a dream, but im living it.
I have walked around in Antiqua to see where i can study spanish, yes Im thinking of coming back here to stay for some weeks, i mean im here now..i should stay as long as possible no ???
My group is 6 girls...lucky me !!! 4 amercians, 1 swiss and me, and they hardly touch alcohol !!!!
(This is written after the group left us, and I was wrong about the drinking, Catie an Jane did their share of it, Thank You ! )
Well maybe Ill just be the good girl now, I will have my drinking nights later...
Guatemala is wonderfull, to travel around with the chicken buses is the most fun ive had for a long time, How many people can you put in a chicken bus ????
The people are so beautiful, I want to kidnapp every kid I see.
On wednesday we are off to Rio Dulce and Flores and after that Belize.
I will keep you updated.

Já ég veit ég er alveg glotud i tessu, tad er svona tegar lífid er ljúft, tá nennir madur engu...Atti yndislega draumaviku I Tulum, maeli med tessum ótrúlega stad, algjor paradis, gengur enn illa ad na inn myndum.
Er búin kynnast svo morgum, Josh Og Flo frá tyskalandi, Irene frá Venezuela, Emily frá Belgíu, Moniku frá Cancun, Amondu og Iris frá Swiss og kaj frá Santa Fe. Vá ég man oll nofnin !!
Tetta var afloppun á heimsmaelikvarda...sló met held ég bara...
Turfti ad rífa mig upp á rassgatinu til ad skoda rústir í nágrenninu...og líka til ad yfirgefa svaedid ef tví er ad skipta...en hafdi mig i tad eftir tvaer framlengingar og er nún astodd i Palenque i fjollum Chiapas, Mexico...tók 12 tíma í naeturrútu.
